Can I Travel After Cancer Treatment?

Many cancer patients can travel, but the timing depends on the treatment and your health.

Questions You're Afraid to Ask

The short answer

Many cancer patients can travel, but the timing depends on the treatment and your health.

Before travelling, consider:

Blood counts

Infection risk

Recent surgery

Treatment schedule

Access to medicines

Travel insurance

Destination healthcare facilities

Long journeys and mobility

Ask your cancer team:

"Is it safe for me to travel now?"

"Do I need any precautions?"

"What medicines and medical documents should I carry?"

Remember

Carry a copy of your diagnosis, treatment summary, current medicines and important contact numbers.

Plan the journey around your health—not the other way around.
